Terms of Use


These Terms of Use, including any policies, rules and other terms that are expressly incorporated herein by reference (collectively, these “Terms”), sets forth a legally binding agreement between you and Dictionary, Inc. (“Dictionary,”“we,” “us,” or “our” ). These Terms, together with Dictionary Privacy Policy, apply to all applications, mobile application, sites, software, Content, products and services (collectively, the “Dictionary”) provided to you by Dictionary and/or any of our affiliates govern your access and use of the Dictionary. As long as you comply with these Terms, you have the right to download and install a copy of the Apps to your mobile device, and to access and use the Service, for your own personal use. By accessing and using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms at any time, please do not use the Service.

1.Service access

You may access the Service for free via registering a code which was provided in our physical books or you may purchase a subscription fee. All fees are payable in accordance with payment terms in effect at the time the fee or the charge becomes payable. If you access with a code, your rights to use the Service will be terminated according to code valid date and/or any applicable Additional Terms. If you purchase a subscription fee, at the end of your subscription period, we will automatically renew services through the procedures described in the “Subscription Renewal” section below, we may change your fee at any time in our sole discretion.

Subscription Renewal: By activating the Service, you agree that we may renew your subscription automatically at the same subscription term on the day after your previous subscription ends, and you authorize us to charge you for the subscription term, unless you cancel your access prior to its renewal date through the procedures described in the “Subscription Cancellation” section below.

Subscription Cancellation: After you cancel your access, we will not charge you any subscription fees after the expiration of your then-current subscription. Please note we do not provide full or partial refunds for prepaid sums. In any event, you will be able to continue to use the Services throughout the remainder of the subscription period for which you have already paid.

2.Links to Third-Party Websites

The Service may contain links to third-party websites that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites.

3. Ownership

The content on the Service is the property of Merriam-Webster and its affiliated companies or licensors, and is protected by international copyright laws.

4. Use of Content

You may display, reproduce, print or download content on the Services only for your personal, non-commercial use. If you are a teacher, scholar or student, you may copy reasonable portions of the content for lesson plans, interactive whiteboards, reports, dissertations, presentations, school newspapers and for similar nonprofit educational purposes to the extent permitted by applicable law. In each case, however, you may not remove or alter any copyright or other proprietary notices or legends. You may not publish, distribute, retransmit, sell or provide access to the content on the Services, except as permitted under applicable law or as described in these Terms of Use. You may not use data mining, robots, screen scraping, or similar data gathering and extraction tools on the Services, except with our express written permission. You may not decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble any software or other products or processes accessible through the Service, insert any code or product or manipulate the content of the Service in any way that affects the user's experience. If you want to reproduce or use content for any purpose or in any manner other than as described above, you will need Dictionary permission.

5. General provisions

a. Responsibilities and interests of customers

Absolutely do not use any tools or methods to illegally access, intervene the system, or alter the data structure of the Dictionary application. Do not arbitrarily intrude, promote, or interfere with the server system, database of the Dictionary in any way. Do not make comments or judgments that are meant to offend, cause trouble, disturb others or make any political comments and discrimination against religion, gender, ethnicity ... When system errors are detected, please inform and report to the application administrator immediately by this phone number: 1800 6242.

b. Responsibilities and Rights of Dictionary

It is strictly forbidden to use any part of the application for commercial purposes, promote products or represent any third party without the consent or written permission of the customer. The agreements and provisions in the Terms of Use can be changed, supplemented at any time and without prior notice to the customer.
